What is hosting?

Web Hosting or ‘Hosting’ is a service provided  which offers a physical location for the storage of web pages and files. Think of a Web Hosting Company as a type of landlord, they rent physical space on their servers allowing webpages to be viewed on the Internet.

We provide full hosting facilities for our clients where needed, but it is not essential you use our hosting. If you already have hosting in place we may be able to use it depending on the type of website you require.

Full email services are available through our hosting services.

Basic email services included in our hosting packages include:
  • Unlimited POP3 email accounts - Pop3 accounts are for use with email clients like Outlook, outlook Express, Windows mail and Thunderbird.
  • Unlimited email forwarders - These are email addresses which are simply forwarding addresses that send mail on to any valid existing account.
  • Webmail - Pop3 accounts are also viewable any internet browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Domains Names

A domain name is the internet address of your website and forms the basis of your email account addresses. for example our domain name is www.imyge.net and our email accouns all have @imyge.net after the account name. A domain is a requirment for your business website.

Whilst Imyge Net can happily register your domain for you we actively encourage clients to register their own and simply point the domain name at our servers. This keeps you in ultimate control of your domain name and it’s settings. We will advise and assist on where to register and what domain to purchse for your website.
